soundless kit - a refugee's guide
Communication Design V Project

The arrival of refugees in Europe and the consequent use of completely different idioms created the need for something that facilitates the communication process. Therefore, the “Soundless Kit – A refugee’s guide” was invented: a dictionary of images that allows for the refugees to create simple conversations and use essential vocabulary.

The Soundless Kit is divided into sections which approach topics of daily life. These span from house environments, such as the kitchen, or the bathroom with its utensils, to DIY tools or leisure areas, such as the beach or the garden. As part of the process in all this project, a diagram in form of a leaflet was designed to follow the conversation and simplify the conversation between Huruy and Adiam, two refugees from Eritrea.
