Europeans are those who look, who observe a future ahead of them, who walk in a place that doesn’t belong to them. For this reason, some of the portrayed are not necessarily Portuguese, but they walk on Lisbon. Some are waiting, others are attentively watching what will come, others are on their way. Different attitudes, but they never stop belonging to a common place. All photographs include two shapes with different colors; there is with no particular symbolism, they merely unify the differences revealed by the specificities of each person portrayed.

We can also interpret each photograph as a representative flag of Europe that unfolds into multiple results. The attempt to humanise the European Union flag reveals, by itself, a detachment from the previous version, so I suggest an image that can be representative of an idea of Europe, but also of the idea of individuality of being European.
